How to update your PSP with 5.03 OFW

If you are interested in using ChickHen (a hombrew enabler) on your PSP2000 with TA-088v3 mobo or your PSP3000, first you have to update to 5.03 official firmware (OFW). Here’ s the directions…
Upgrading to 5.03
- Download the Official Firmware 5.03. (alternative link)
- Copy the 5.03.PBP file into ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE on your MS. Create any folder if necessary.
- Rename 5.03.PBP file to EBOOT.PBP
- Remove your PSP safely.
- Go to XMB’ s game menu and run the update
What if I have a newer firmware, for instance the 5.50 OFW or higher?
The firmware 5.50 fixes the exploit that lets ChickHen to load on your PSP. If you already upgraded to a higher than 5.03 official firmware, then you won’t be able to run homebrews because you can’t install a lower official firmware
