I try the data transfer utility but it says no ethernet cable connected what could be the error even i went to the store and get a new ethernet cable and it keeps sayimg the same thing no ethernet cable connected

The two ps3 are in the same version 4.81 and cfw rebug 4.81 and the ethernet port works because i play online via wired connection there is another way to transfer the backup to the ofw ps3?

No, only can transfer backups over Ethernet.

Maybe you can fix it by installing CFW 4.81 HABIB on CFW PS3.
